Our Mission
Aim High Impact strives to open doors for youths with autism through compassionate ABA therapy.
Individuals with autism face many closed doors in life due to symptoms of their diagnosis. This can include trouble communicating their thoughts, being overwhelmed at typical activities like going to school, or having self-injurious stimming behavior.
ABA therapy is an effective and scientifically-backed method of addressing these problems through techniques that break down complicated essential tasks into manageable parts. We hope that through compassionate ABA therapy, we can open those closed doors and increase our clients’ independence and their connection to the community.
Where We Began
In 2015, our director Dana Donaldson noticed a dire need for ABA services for older children; they were aging out of the clinic she was working at and had no options to continue intensive ABA treatment. She had started up a program at the clinic she was working at, but was ready to look for a new home for it. Through common connections, she started discussing this need with the founder of Aim High who had expressed an interest in starting an ABA clinic. After months of planning, Aim High Impact was launched in January of 2017 under the larger banner of Aim High PDX.
As we provided services, our director noticed that parents often came with stories about being turned away from other services – including other ABA clinics. Looking around, we found that there was an overall lack of service for those who had intensive behaviors and began to specialize in those edge cases. We have since grown from 8 staff members to over 30, and have launched Aim High Ascent July of 2022 to offer early intervention ABA therapy.
